BACKGROUND & IDEATION

Founded by ENT surgeon and U.S. Army veteran Dr. Patrick Melder, CleanWash ChitoRhino provides all-natural ear, nose, and throat products using chitosan, a plant-based anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory ingredient.

CleanWash products began selling in local stores and wanted to expand into larger retailers including CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart. To sell successfully in these stores, CleanWash needed new packaging that was retail ready and would entice shoppers to purchase the line of products offered.

To differentiate its product offerings among the overcrowded health and wellness space on national retail chain shelves, CleanWash needed a focused vision and an eye-catching approach to sharing their unique story. id8’s packaging strategy included developing a simple and easily identifiable mark that unites multiple product SKUs with one brand voice. The design utilizes brightly colored product palettes with a refreshing splash graphic, further reinforcing a unified and exciting brand.

Since launching the new packaging, CleanWash has seen a 300% increase in sales on both their website and Amazon. CVS agreed to test CleanWash products in stores across the U.S., and three additional large retailers have reached out to express interest in purchasing and selling CleanWash products in stores.
